Our McKinney hospice and palliative care program provides supportive care for patients facing critical or terminal illness. Palliative care may begin immediately after diagnosis and focuses on improving quality of life. It aims to relieve pain, symptoms, and stress caused by the illness while allowing the patient to maintain their preferred level of activity whenever possible. This care also addresses the psychological and spiritual needs of the patient.
Hospice care begins when curative treatment has ended and focuses on comfort and dignity at the end of life. Our hospice services support the patient’s physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Patients may receive nursing care, emotional support, and pastoral services.
For patients with pain or symptoms that cannot be managed in a home setting, we offer General Inpatient (GIP) hospice care—a short-term, intensive level of care delivered in a clinical setting. GIP is designed to stabilize acute conditions, allowing patients to return to more comfortable care settings when possible.
Medicare may provide benefits for hospice care in certain circumstances. Visit Medicare.gov for more information.
